It was stated a while back, that NewTek announced that 4.0 will be
available for the Amiga, but will be the last version for the Amiga. Of
the Toaster, I don't know what its future will be. There is no Toaster
for anything else but Amigas, and I don't think this is going to change
soon, so that would create a problem when the next version of LW 4.0 is
done. Hopefully by then, the buyers of C= will have started and perhaps
NewTek will change their mind and support the Amiga further since the
drought of machines has been very painful for NewTek to endure, and is by
far the #1 reason for seeking alternative platforms. I mean, within the
DTV niche, I don't think people care whether they use a machine which
isn't a PC since by virtue of the Toaster, the Amiga already enjoys a
better reputation in the DTV crowd than others. It's just a matter of
the HARDWARE being too expensive, and again, hopefully the buyers of C=
will fix things, perhaps offering A4000s with builtin 040/50s and 060/50s
which would compete better with 486 and Pentiums.
If NewTek changed their mind about 4.0 and the Amiga then I'd be pissed.
